The town is called Máncora and it is located in the county of Piura, on the north coast of Peru, just 120kms away from Ecuador.

LAND AND AIR TRANSPORTATION
 
The closest passenger flights to Máncora are from Lima to Tumbes  (85 km north of Máncora) and Lima to Piura (200kms south of Máncora).

LAN Peru and Tans airlines offer this route daily, with prices between US$69 and US$119.
Taxi services to Máncora from Piura or Tumbes, we can recommend to you some companies.

By land from Lima, there are excelent bus services from Cruz Del Sur, Ormeño, Oltursa, Civa and Cial, which travel direct in about 16hrs.

WEATHER
 
The weather is semi tropical, dry, with temperatures that never go down from 15c and can reach 38c in the summer months (January, February and March).

Thanks to its strategic location, Máncora gets sun all year round. Rain in Máncora is rare.
 
MONEY AND BANKS
 
We recommend that you always carry cash with you (in soles or dollars), because most restaurants and shops don’t have credit cards facilities.

There is a bank (National Bank of Peru) where you can change dollars into soles. There are 2 ATM's in Máncora, one that accepts MASTERCARD, VISA and VISA plus cards, the other which accepts CIRRUS, MAESTRO AND DINNERS.
 
OTHER SERVICES
 
Máncora has a basic hospital and has other private clinics. There are some internet cafes, surf shops where you can rent boards, chemists/pharmacies, craft stores and other tourist services.
